An Electromagnetic Over Band Separator is a specialized magnetic separation device used in various industries to capture and remove ferrous contaminants from conveyed materials on conveyor belts. This type of separator utilizes an electromagnet to create a strong magnetic field, allowing it to effectively attract and separate ferrous materials from non-ferrous ones. The offered range is installed above the conveyor belt, typically suspended from a structure or mounted on a frame. It spans across the width of the conveyor belt to cover the entire material flow. When a large volume of tramp iron is expected, a self-cleaning type separator will be more economical than a simple suspended magnet which is sufficient for small quantities. They are used typically in applications such as Raw Material handling of Coal, Iron Ore, Limestone, Sugar cane etc. in Thermal Power Plants, Steel Plants, Ports, Sugar Mills, etc. They are used for removing magnetic contaminations from non-magnetic materials in order to protect crusher, mills, processing plants, etc against too much wear and damage. They serve for cleaning non-magnetic bulk goods with iron contamination for instance cleaning of foundry sand, coal. They are used for recovering magnetic material from ore, steel mill slag, etc. Electromagnet Overband separator can be installed for Belt widths ranging up to 2500 mm width and Operating heights up to 1100 mm. The Electromagnet coil may be Natural Air Cooled or Oil Cooled depending on customer's preference.
